I'm Rose Inglis

I’m a mentor, educator, and disruptor working with legal professionals. I provide tips and strategies to inspire others to carve out their unique career path in the industry, informed by my professional experience as a solicitor, legal educator, and mentor.

At university, I decided that I did not aspire to a corporate legal career. I then pursued ‘alternative’ legal career opportunities – completing my legal traineeship (SLT) in-house at a government organisation.

In London, I hustled my way into a ‘dream role’ working as a lawyer on international class actions for a plaintiff firm.

Despite some pinch moments walking to work past the Royal Courts of Justice, this path did not feel right. Litigations’ focus on fixing past wrongs clashed with my inclination to constructively think forward.

Finding my place

My career journey

Further education was something I did aspire to, partly due to my academic lineage, partly due to my inquisitive mind and insatiable thirst for knowledge.

I then undertook an LLM at University College London (UCL) with a view to transitioning into policy or research (a natural progression).

Further education

Through curiosity and hard work, I gained a global perspective on the rapidly transforming legal industry and began to uncover more about my career options.

Each new role I took showed me that I could make my own choices and thrive. The legal industry was not as rigid as I had first believed.

Expanding my horizon

Through Rose Tinted Law, it is my mission to help aspiring and early career lawyers find – or create – the roles they deserve. I hope that the next generation of legal leaders will be kinder, more compassionate, and more open-minded towards each other and the industry at large.

Cultural change comes from individuals, but those individuals need support to understand the depth and breadth of their options.
